I just got back from the Outer Banks, a trip I’ve taken almost every year since I was 8 years old. My family moved to the Charlotte area from New York, where we used to go to North Conway, New Hampshire every summer. Moving down south made that quite the feat, especially with 3 young children. So, we were beach goers now! I remember being really bored at times as a kid going to Hatteras, there isn’t much to do at all! But now, as an adult, I sink into the quiet and “boring” beach, only leaving the beach for the seafood market, to get some cajun steamed shrimp or fresh caught fish for dinner.
I took this photo the morning I left, and I felt like it surmised the tranquil beach I have grown up going to visit. The beach is disappearing! We barely have any beach to sit on as they waves get closer to consuming our beach house. So I will cherish every year that I have left to visit this gorgeous wonderland!
