What a blessing this entire day was! Mokomo flew all the way here to Asheville from Japan to learn floral design from the absolute best, Niki at Flourish Flower Farm. As you’ve probably seen, if you’ve looked through any number of my previous posts, Niki is my absolute favorite! Her designs ALWAYS impress and fit each session perfectly. I LOVE flowers, so I’m always happy to help Niki out with any floral projects she has in mind.

A Beautiful Blooming Flower

It was so much fun watching Mokomo learn the basics of floral design. She clearly has such a passion for it. Her eyes lit up at every praise and new tip. Seeing that thirst for knowledge and growth is so incredibly inspirational. It reminds me of myself when I first started diving into the world of photography. Like an endless sponge, I was continuously in search of new information, tips and ideas.

It was also interesting to hear about the cultural differences between the educational process in Japan vs. here in the states. She was so excited about how kind and helpful she found Niki and I. With natural talent as apparent as hers, who wouldn’t shower her with endless compliments!?
