Oh, how I LOVED photographing this family! The Gillespie family came all the way from Atlanta to visit the Biltmore Estate and capture this updated family portrait session. I had so much fun getting to know each member and couple and seeing the way each of these puzzle pieces fit together to make one beautiful picture. They haven’t had professional images taken before, so this was definitely a treat for both of us!
Making Personalities Shine
I let the natural personalities shine as we captured some candid photography before going into our posed portion. There is always a time and place for both styles, so I like to allow ample time for both. It was a nice, warm(ish) day when we gathered together. A slight nip in the air rang through the session when the wind would pick up, but otherwise, perfect weather! The best part about the day? The light!! Just look at that warm, golden light! Isn’t is dreamy?!
I was introduced to this family through the mother, Elizabeth. We actually grew up together. We hadn’t seen each other since we were about 16 when I went to visit her in Ohio after her family moved away, so it was super fun catching up and talking about all the places life had taken us, and the relaxed conversation made it even easier to get those candid shots. Life has obviously been very good to both of us! I’m in a career that I absolutely adore, and she is surrounded by a stunning family, overflowing with love for each other. What more could we ask for?!
