Tyler & Sarah came to Asheville for a romantic trip. Little did Sarah know this was going to be more than just a walk in the park. Pun intended.

 

Tyler had planned a surprise proposal with us there to photograph the whole thing! As soon as he contacted me to be their Asheville proposal photographer, I was ecstatic! I helped him make a plan for the proposal on their visit to Biltmore Estate. In true surprise fashion, our original plan got scratched when Sarah wanted to go to the bathroom. I inconspicuously followed them around and texted with Tyler to gather a new plan. I ended up following them down a path to the Italian gardens where he dropped down on one knee. Phew! 

As most brides-to-be she was shocked in all of the best ways. Tyler took to a beautiful path in the gardens when he decided to propose which isolated all of us from everyone else, making this moment intimate, quiet and extremely special. It is such an honor to be able to document top moments in my client’s lives. A proposal is the start of a journey and I am so thrilled when I can be part of that every step of the way. Clients become friends and eventually those friends become family. 

 

One of my favorite parts about surprise proposals is that after the proposal, the groom gets to share exactly how he was feeling during it all. Sarah had no idea and we joked about afterward. I joked that I just had to follow the couple with the great hair. Don’t they both have incredible hair!?
