Biltmore Estate Engagement | Dana + Brad

These two are eloping with us in the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains through Elope Outdoors in September. Like many couples, they wanted an engagement session with me before their big day. Engagement sessions are a great way to get to know your photographer before the big day and to take a few photos that reflect the first step in your journey together as a couple. Engagement photos are most couples’ first professional photos together, and they’re great for so much more than just save the dates. You can use them at your wedding, in an album, or display them to warm up your new home together.

For this engagement session, we explored the grounds of the picturesque Biltmore Estate! It was so nice to be out in a warm spring day where things were green and blooming around us—very refreshing after such a long winter. They were so natural in front of the camera, and this was such a lovely shoot!

Dana and Brad have such a sweet story. They actually met in high school, but did not start dating until they reconnected through mutual friends after college. They hit it off right away, and he proposed in Boone, NC on November 3, 2018. He originally wanted to propose outside on one of their favorite trails along the parkway, but the weather didn’t cooperate, so he ended up proposing to me in front of the stone fireplace in our cabin—equally romantic!

About the Couple

These two animal lovers enjoy all things nature. They have two little dogs named Chunk and Wiley (how cute!), and when they aren’t out hitting the trails, they love a quiet night in with some Netflix, takeout and red wine. As far as hiking, they have explored all around their local Durham area as well as western NC several times a year. The mountains are very special to them, but they also spend a lot of time at the lake enjoying paddle boarding and other water activities together. Sounds like an elopement in the mountains will be perfect for them! I can’t wait!
