I got to photograph Leanne and Ryan’s maternity photos last fall and was so excited to have them choose me as their Asheville newborn photographer when they had Jude. Jude was born in November and they decided they wanted to wait to photograph him until he was a bit older. Normally, I suggest a newborn session takes place within the first few weeks of birth in order to get those sleepy positions. Newborns are much easier to pose but you rarely get the big smiles and wide eyes. 

 

Jude’s session turned out wonderfully and it ended up being a great idea for them to wait to do a milestone session instead of the traditional newborn session. Because he was a bit older than a newborn, we got to see his big smile, playful personality, and sparkling eyes. He was wide awake, expressive, and so much fun to photograph! 

 

I loved that I got to capture lots of family photographs. They had just moved into a new home which was a great location for the session. We even dressed Jude up in a cute blue onesie and took photographs with their dog Freddie who also attended Leanne and Ryan’s maternity session.

 

I had so much fun getting the chance to be Leanne, Ryan, and Jude’s Asheville family photographer. I cannot wait to work with them in the future for more family sessions as Jude grows up!
