“We chose Asheville as our wedding destination because the mountains of North Carolina are very special to my family and, having shared them with Jordan many times, they have become a special place to us as a couple. My family had a home in the NC mountains in the past, and my late mother’s dream was to live there full-time. Having the wedding in the mountains made sense to both feel close to my departed mother, and to celebrate our wedding in a place that we both enjoy so much.
The emotion I had during the ceremony took me by surprise. I cannot say for sure why I was a crying bride, but I think it was the beautiful mixture of marrying the strong, caring man I am lucky enough to now call my husband and the overwhelming love I felt by our family and close friends surrounding us on the deck.
They tell you the day goes by fast – they weren’t kidding! The reception felt like a blink of an eye, and I am so thankful we have the stunning photos to relive the memories of that day. The Shoe Game was a highlight for the guests, and the first dance and father daughter dance were my favorite parts.
We are so grateful for our incredible luck in finding wonderful professionals to make our day the most beautiful day of our lives. Meghan’s laid-back personality matched with her incredible eye for artistic shots makes her truly one-of-a-kind. Her energy surrounding us on our day was positive and soothing, and she was incredibly great at capturing our moments without us feeling like we were on stage being photographed. It just felt natural.”
Whitney and Jordan were married on October 16th, with a ceremony and reception at the Crest Center in Asheville, NC.
Even though these two are from Florida, they have lived in Raleigh and Wilmington, and they told me that they have a “love affair” with North Carolina. Of course they do—we love it here!
On the day of the wedding, Whitney and Jordan both got ready at the Aloft Hotel in downtown Asheville, and I flitted back and forth between their rooms before focusing on Whitney as we did a first look with her father, David. It was obvious that the two of them had a very special connection, which was touching to see.
From there, it was off to the ceremony at the Crest Center, where again, I could feel myself getting tears in my eyes. Whitney literally had me crying when she got emotional during the vows, and I glanced over to see that her dad was also so touched and beaming with pride!
Once we got done with the ceremony, it was time to party! Everyone had a blast with the photo booth, as well as the newlywed shoe game. And everyone was laughing when Jordan and Whitney got a little messy with the cake-cutting. Of course, Whitney and her father also had to have a dance together—to “I Loved Her First” by Tim McGraw. Then it was time for the sparkler sendoff!
Thank you, Whitney & Jordan, for choosing me as your wedding photographer. I had such a fun time photographing all the joy that was present at your celebration. You have beautiful energy, and I could see how much you are loved by your friends and family around you.
