Wintertime Claxton Farm Elopement ~ Asheville Elopement Photographer

Ashley & Lukas eloped with us at Elope Outdoors ~ Asheville!  This is my elopement business that I started as a passion project back in 2013. It has evolved so much since then, and I am so proud of how far it has come!

 

 

Ashely & Lukas are from Charlotte, NC

They met back in high school – they both went to Carolina Day School in Asheville, NC. Lukas came to live in Asheville in the 7th grade and they started dating in the 10th grade. His family moved to Asheville from Germany due to his Dad’s job. They’ve been together since 2010 and Lukas proposed last April.  They’ve been together 10 years – they started dating 9/10/2010. (cool date!) It has been a while!

Lukas proposed April 11, 2020 right at the beginning of COVID in Asheville, NC at the house of the photographer who did our engagement pics. Ashley did not know that the pictures were engagement pics at the time as he told her his sister, Frances and him were going to take graduation pictures. Engagement was supposed to be at the Biltmore Estate but of course, COVID!! So, luckily the photographer had a nice field by her house that they used for the session. Ashely was pretty shocked he proposed because it had been 10 years after all! But she was very excited and happy. Lukas graduated from UNCA in May 2020 and started working in Charlotte in June.

These two enjoy walking their dogs and spending time outdoors. They have two mini labradoodles, Moose and Lulu (@theminidoods on insta) and their life plans basically revolve around them. They love visiting Asheville (now that they live in Charlotte) to hike, eat and spend time with family and friends. They also enjoy going to the beach, especially Charleston! When at home in Charlotte, they like catching up on whatever show we are currently into and work on home projects as they bought house last July. Lukas started working last June and has been traveling a lot for work ever since, so when they are together they just enjoy spending time with one another! And that’s all that matters!

Why did you choose to get married in Asheville, and at your chosen venue?
“Asheville is our home town and our most favorite place. Our family and close friends are all there and couldn’t imagine a better place to get married. Hopefully we can make it back to Asheville full time one day! Also, we met in high school in Asheville. The venue seems like a great way to enjoy some of Asheville’s best views in winter.”

What are you looking forward to most on your wedding day?
“Our wedding day has been a long time coming for us and our families especially since we’ve been together for 10 years. We are most looking forward to celebrating with each other and our close family as make the step to truly become “official” lol.”
