Asheville, NC Wedding Photographer | Maggie and Karlsten

“You can’t fall if you don’t climb. But there is no joy in living your life on the ground.” – Unknown

Maggie and Karlsten, two rock climbers from North Carolina, decided to take the biggest climb of their life and say “I do” to one another. After getting to know these amazing people, I realized how blessed I was to be a part of their big day as their Asheville, NC Wedding Photographer. Not only are they absolutely beautiful together, but their personalities shine with kindness and compassion.

Climbing a rocky mountainside is definitely not for the weak. It has major challenges, but it’s totally worth it in the end. Relationships, in a different sense, can be just as challenging. However, being able to share a moment like a marriage with all of your friends and family is worth every second of the bad. Seeing Maggie and Karlsten on their wedding day was such a great moment for everyone there, because it just seemed so natural and joyous. This beautiful couple finally made it to the beautiful view they had been climbing to reach.

About this Session

When rock climbing, every step, every detail, is important in making it to the top. Similarly, Maggie and Karlsten’s wedding was so perfectly executed that it made for such beautiful photos. They decided to get married at Maggie’s aunt and uncle’s house in Fairview, NC. Their home overlooked a stunning mountain range, resulting in such an intimate and serene atmosphere. Not only was the view amazing, but the details they had throughout the wedding were simply perfect. The flowers, by Flourish Ruth, featured lots colors, and went great with the spring season. There were many other beautiful details, such as the centerpieces and cutlery, that you can check out in the photos!

You can’t climb a mountain without having drive and passion. Maggie and Karlsten have a passion for each other that is inspiring to all that cross their paths. Every moment of the day, you could feel the love between them. One of my favorite times was the first dance, as they looked at each other with such love in their eyes. Altogether, Maggie and Karlsten’s wedding was very real and intimate. I am so happy for the new Mr. & Mrs., and I know that they will climb many mountains to come.
