Asheville Maternity Natural Light Photographer | Erin and Ivy

I feel privileged to have walked with this couple on their journey together as their Asheville Maternity Natural Light Photographer. First as husband and wife and now as soon to be parents!  I photographed Erin and Ivy’s wedding in Asheville 2 years ago. Honestly, I knew right then by the fun and loving way they interacted with each other that they were going to make great parents someday.  I can’t wait to continue on this journey with them after their baby is born by getting to photograph their new son or daughter.  Erin and Ivy chose not to find out the gender of their baby so it will be a surprise for us all when they make their appearance soon! 

About this session

Erin and Ivy came up Charlotte for their maternity session so we could take their pictures around the grounds at the Biltmore Estate.  This location is breathtaking and provided a lot of gorgeous backgrounds to capture this stunning couple.  We timed it just right because the early spring weather was pleasant and the flowers are all in bloom.  I love the shots in the tulips because it looks like she’s walking through a page out of a children’s fairy tale book.  The bright colors of the orange and yellow tulips  popped against her dark teal gown and made for some really nice shots.   

Some of my favorite photos from this shoot came later in the day when she was in the field in her flowing yellow skirt.  The wind picked up a bit while we were in the field, which worked well with the airiness of her skirt.   

 There is something so feminine and elegant about long flowy dresses and skirts for maternity shoots, and I love it when new moms bring those kind of outfits!  Even if you’re not a long, flowy gown sort of person I’d recommend thinking about wearing one for a maternity shoot.  

Erin is so beautiful and is easy to photograph.  I can’t wait to meet their new baby soon!
