Arlene & Cliff

These two have such an interesting story to tell! They live in both California & Mars Hill, NC. After all, if you’re in love with both the east and west coasts, why not choose both! I can only imagine the experiences they’ve shared together going back and forth between two distinct yet equally gorgeous places.

Their full wedding took place at their home in Mars Hill, but they also had a small intimate affair with close family & friends – just the type of wedding we love! Their happiness is infectious. Arlene and Cliff are two of the most genuine people we’ve ever met. They aren’t ones to do things for appearances but because they want to live life to the fullest. Without even knowing them, just from the pictures alone, you can easily see their love for family and each other. Everything during their wedding day was filled with love and intentionality.

I can’t forget to mention the dress: Arlene had a stunning yet simple dress from BHLDN (which is where I got my wedding dress as well – I love it!) She has great taste. 😉

If rain on you wedding day is good luck, then break out the bright-colored umbrellas! It ended up raining in the afternoon as it often does in the mountains during summer, so their wedding took place under tent. The umbrellas added such a playful, unique touch. This will be a fun detail from their wedding day they’ll never forget. But the rain certainly didn’t get them down! In fact, everyone, even the kiddos, when right along with it. And thankfully, it was just temporary. The quick shower added a beautiful glimmer to the day, and the rest of the outdoor ceremony was just lovely.

And for the grand finale, the kids performed a special dance for the newlyweds and the guests. It was a hit! I love the candid shots of them practicing – so cute! It’s moments like these that make the day special, and I know Arlene and Cliff will love looking back at these priceless photos.
