With so many diverse job opportunities and technological advancements, most families tend to be a little more spread out geographically today than they were even just 50 years ago. Social media helps keep us connected when we are miles apart, but planning a family reunion is not quite as easy since family members have to travel far and wide, pausing their busy lives, in order to make it happen. But for families who can pull it off, it’s more than worth the temporary hassle of coordinating. As the Asheville Family Session Photographer I loved capturing the Aurora family and seeing the natural joy all over their faces was just amazing to witness , making this session such a blast!
For this multi-generational family photo session, the Aurora family all gathered in Asheville for their father’s 70th birthday. They were able to introduce the newest three babies in the family, two of which are twin baby girls—I’m sure their father (the babies’ grandfather) could not have imagined a more perfect gift for such a special birthday milestone. The whole family enjoyed seeing how much the older cousins have also grown and changed over the years, and I loved watching them all meet, greet, and catch up.
They rented a big home in Mars Hill and decided to caravan over to the Biltmore Estate one day to take family portraits. The Biltmore stretches across 8,000 acres surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains. It’s known for its lush historic gardens. The estate is gorgeous all year round but especially vibrant in autumn. The picturesque backdrop and sprawling space make it the perfect location for family portraits.
It was such a pleasure to meet all the Aurora family and capture everyone together. They seemed so happy together, making them such a fun and easy family to photograph!
