I’ve been asked a few times if it’s really worth it to take maternity pictures. What do you do with them? Will I regret the investment? My answer is always, “Yes! They are so worth it.” In the moment, pregnancy is filled with many ups and downs emotionally. The hormone fluctuations and sudden body changes can make it a challenge to embrace at times. But, pregnancy and all that it represents is so beautiful and worth remembering. It’s the beginning of new life. An addition to the family. A representation of love.
When I document this time for women, I want to capture the beauty of it all in a way that makes moms-to-be feel empowered and radiant. When they look back on these photos, I want them to remember the happiness and excitement as they waited with wonder and eager anticipation for the little ones to arrive. They can use these photos as family memoirs to show their kids (and even grandkids) someday and tell their story. I realize not everyone will display their maternity photos on their walls for years and years to come, but they are wonderful collections for albums that represent a huge part of a couple’s story. This is where it all began!
Jessilyn and Brian are expecting a baby girl—Cameron! They already have two handsome little boys at home as well, so they have some experience under their belt. She looked so calm and collected, truly a glowing beauty! They came up from Raleigh for the babymoon, wanting to get away and relax a little before their Cameron’s arrival. Although it was beautiful outside, it was pretty chilly, so we did a few pictures outside and then most of them indoors when she changed into her beautiful pink dress honoring their daughter. These two are such a lovely couple, and I had a wonderful time capturing this stage for them. Congratulations, Jessilyn and Brian!
