This sweet engagement session had it all: a beautiful couple, amazing views, an adorable baby, and some romantic dancing. Elias proposed to his girlfriend Ally with their precious daughter, Finley, at the Biltmore Estatein North Carolina. They came up from the Raleigh area for a little family getaway – with a little something added. I was so thrilled to be behind the lens of this family’s Asheville proposal photography!
A Unique Proposal
To pop the question, Elias got Finley a cute little bib that said “Mommy, will you marry my Daddy?” Ally was not expecting this since it was Father’s Day weekend, so it was truly a fun surprise. For the proposal, they were standing on the opposite end of the courtyard from Vanderbilt’s grand French mansion so that the gorgeous chateau filled the backdrop. This family of three made the trip in the middle of the day when the sun was at its – not necessarily the perfect lighting for photos, but it isglorious weather for a family outing and surprise proposal, which is what matters most! I think the photos turned out absolutely lovely nonetheless.
After the proposal, Elias and Ally explored the grounds some more and did a few romantic spins between the columns of the mansion. The pictures of them walking across the field are so vibrant and energetic, and the family photos among the serene trees are some of my favorites. Of course, we had to get several with the mountains rolling across the horizon, too.
I was so happy to capture this milestone moment for this cute little family. They were such a pleasure to work with, and I am really excited for the next adventure as they become husband and wife. Their family is already so beautiful, I just know their wedding day will be filled with love.
